Marc Feustel is an independent writer, editor, curator, and lecturer based in Paris. A specialist in Japanese photography, he is the author of Japan: a self-portrait, photographs 1945–1964 and has curated several exhibitions including Japan A Self-Portrait, 1945–1964 (Setagaya Art Museum, Tokyo), Tokyo Stories (Kulturhuset, Stockholm), Eikoh Hosoe: Theatre of Memory (Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney), and A Female Perspective (T3 Photo Festival, Tokyo).

He founded the blog eyecurious.com in 2009 and writes regularly about photography and photo-books for publications including The Eyes, Foam, IMA, and Tempura. As a freelance editor and translator he works with publishers and art institutions including Aperture, Atelier EXB, Editions Bernard Chauveau, Flammarion, Lafayette Anticipations, Pinault Collection, and Réunion des Musées nationaux (RMN).

Marc regularly participates as a speaker, panelist and host of talks and discussions on photography and photobooks.
